The Royal Oak public house is ideally situated in the centre of the historic town of Corsham in Wiltshire. The building took its name in 1899, Royal Oak being the name given to the oak tree within which King Charles II of England hid to escape the Roundheads following the Battle of Worcester in 1651. The pub also offers two delightful bed and breakfast rooms on the first floor, each with its own bathroom. The current landlord and lady have recently refreshed and refurbished the rooms to offer flexible and comfortable accommodation. Whether you're visiting as a single person, a couple, friends or a larger family, we should be able to accommodate most needs. Downstairs, there are two spacious bar areas with traditional wooden floors and a woodburning stove offers an especially warm welcome on cold winters' days. One of the bars has recently been totally refurbished to make a light and airy space to spend time in, while still retaining the character and heritage of the building. Corsham and Wiltshire are popular tourist attractions and The Royal Oak provides an ideal resting place for coffee and homemade cake, a lunchtime snack or a lively evening in a traditional English hostelry. The building also has a large car park for patrons' use. Local attractions include Bath, Stonehenge, Bowood Country House and of course the beautiful Corsham Court. We are in the Cotswolds, which features many lovely villages and other tourist attractions
