About

An 18th Century boozer based in Lower Clapton providing a wide range of Craft beers, wines, spirits and excellent British cuisine.

The Clapton Hart dates back to the 18th Century, originally the White Hart pub in 1722. It was rebuilt in the 1830s after it was destroyed by fire and again in 1890 as a brewery pub. Over four centuries it went from a Stagecoach Inn and Public House under many names to its more recent identity as a nightclub. With a black-cloud looming over Clapton, the club found itself at the epi-centre of the infamous 'Murder Mile'. This lead to dereliction and to its eventual demise and closure in 2008. Autumn 2011 began a generous refurbishment project to establish this beautiful building to a state it is worthy of, restoring many of its original features along the way and relishing the prospect of finally being able to share the pub. In May 2012, renamed the Clapton Hart, we opened our doors to the people of Clapton, Hackney and beyond. A Pub of extraordinary heritage, with a new yet vintage identity, in an ever changing area that is Clapton. Our evolving drink-range, aims to showcase a wide range of new and inventive beers alongside classic ales and lagers and our food is vintage British with a Clapton Hart twist.
