About
Take a step out of the ordinary and into the funky world of Charlie Wrights - Est. 1992
Charlie Wright's was named after an East End boxer who owned the original Hoxton based site half a century ago. The music venue, founded by Ghanaian businessman John Nash in 1992 operated for 23 years, and consistently attracted an extremely diverse and loyal following; from renowned global musicians and TV stars, to local residents and the UK community.
Charlie Wrights is now an events production company based at The Courtyard Theatre on Pitfield Street - directly opposite the site of the original venue.
Today we continue to promote the best in live afro-beat, jazz, funk, soul and more.
Look forward to catching up at one of the shows!
"Wines and cocktails cover the standards, which is more than can be said for the forward-thinking musicians who offer regular entertainment alongside frequent club nights. 4/5 "Time Out Review"
