The Pelican is a family run traditional Norfolk pub and restaurant with luxury bed and breakfast accommodation located in the village of Tacolneston. As one of Norfolk’s oldest public houses with a history dating back to the 16th century. The Pelican is just 15 minutes south of the historical city of Norwich, and despite considerable renovation, the pub remains as full of character and charm today as when its doors first opened. The Pelican has an established 40 cover restaurant; luxury accommodation with a variety differing size en-suite rooms; a quaint conservatory over-looking the garden; a decked alfresco dining area; and our newest venture, a real ale and local Norfolk produce shop. We also have a space for local groups and businesses to hold their meetings with us, as well as facilities for wedding receptions and private hire. The pub itself comprises of soft leather sofas, stone floors, old oak beams and a large open fire place, we believe in home comforts and want our customers to feel relaxed, well looked after and comfortable in their surroundings whether drinking, dining or frequenting our B&B. Having won the prestigious South Norfolk ‘Pub of the Year 2009/2010’ awards, the pub itself is ‘renowned in the area for its modern British cuisine’, but the Pelican is faithful to its roots as a traditional village pub where people feel warmly welcomed and can relax with a glass of wine or an award winning real ale or two...
